Wireless network Engineer
at Snowball Effect in Stellenbosch
Snowball Effect is looking for a Wireless Networking Engineer to compliment our Wireless team who
has at least 3 - 4 years experience in a similar position. The candidate must live local (Stellenbosch,
Somerset West, Paarl, etc.).
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Market related
Requirements
● Matric Certificate
● MTCNA and MTCWE Diploma
● MTCRE Diploma (Advantageous)
● 3 - 4 years experience in working in a similar environment
● Must reside in the Stellenbosch area or close surrounds
● Own reliable transport
● Fully bilingual
Skills
● Excellent planning and organisational skills
● Ability to use initiative and follow through on ideas
● Intermediate routing skills using RIP, OSPF and BGP
● Basic VPN setups and troubleshooting
● TCP/IP and firewalling experience
● Basic Mikrotik scripting
● Ability to follow tasks handed out
● PC/Desktop troubleshooting
● Google Docs and generating client quotes
● Some ISP technical background
● Fibre or CCTV camera experience (advantageous)
● Radwin and Ubiquiti experience (advantageous)
Personality Traits
● Excellent communication skills
● Must come across as professional and presentable
● Team player and all rounder
● Troubleshooter
● Have the ability to deal with clients on all levels and resolve problems
● Able to work in a high stress environment with strict dead-lines

● Managing high sites
● Managing the wireless team and small projects
● Day to day administration and follow up work
● High site configuration and setup
● Producing quotations
● Supporting the technical support team
● Taking on the responsibility of head of the wireless department, when the Wireless team Manager
is not available
● Gathering information from individuals and various sources in order to draw a clear resolution to a
high priority project
● Must have the ability to grasp difficult routing problems
